WHO WE ARE

The Speech Research Centre was established in 2018. SRC is a research-to-practice, research-to-policy, and knowledge translation group directed at advancing research, training, and treatment of speech disorders and bridging the gap between research and clinical practice.

WHAT WE DO

SRC works closely with research scientists, educators, speech-language pathologists/therapists, and policymakers from around the world to bring the best innovations from the lab to the clinic to help change and improve everyday lives.

About Us

Founding Director Speech Research Centre Inc.

Dr. Aravind Namasivayam holds a Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology (University of Toronto) with a post-doctoral specialization in Neuroscience from the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and the Toronto Western Hospital. Dr. Namasivayam is an internationally recognized expert in stuttering and pediatric speech sound disorders.

To make research and science accessible to everyone, he has also completed specialized training in Implementation Science (University of Melbourne, Australia) and Knowledge Translation programs (Learning Institute, Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto).

Dr. Namasivayam has received several prestigious national and international awards for research impact, service to the profession, mentorship and teaching. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has given over 60 international conference presentations and workshops.
